Privacy Policy

SearchWise (the “Service”) is operated by Mosquito Creek Capital Corp., a corporation based in British Columbia, Canada (“we”, “us”). This policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at support@getsearchwise.com.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name and email address, and, if you sign in with Google, basic Google account details such as your email and profile photo.
• Profile information you provide — your professional background, acquisition goals, search criteria, and your resume if you choose to upload one.
• Deal information you provide — the businesses you track, notes, deal attributes, and documents you upload, which may include confidential business information.
• Usage and technical data — standard log information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security and operations.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the Service, including AI-powered extraction, enrichment, and scoring of the information you provide.
• To communicate with you about your account and the Service. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce usage limits.
• To improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.

AI processing

Content you provide (such as deal details, notes, and documents) is processed by Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI models, through its API in order to power extraction, enrichment, and scoring. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models, and we do not use your content to train AI models either.

Aggregated insights

We may create and publish aggregated, de-identified insights derived from use of the Service — such as market trends and benchmarks — provided they do not identify you, your deals, or any counterparty.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service, such as Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Anthropic (AI processing), Vercel (hosting), and Google (sign-in). These providers process your information on our behalf. When paid plans launch, payments will be processed by Stripe, which will receive your billing information at that time. If we add other providers that process personal information (for example, email delivery), we will update this policy.

Where your data is stored

Your information is stored on infrastructure located in the United States, and the Service is operated from Canada. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in these locations.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@getsearchwise.com, and we will delete it within a reasonable period. In-app account deletion is planned.

Security

Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted by per-user controls enforced at the database layer. No system is perfectly secure, but we design the Service so that each account's data is isolated to that account.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Children

The Service is intended for users 18 years of age or older and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will provide notice by email or within the Service.
